Our stories about who we are in a situation and how we experience the way the world functions all have an internal partner in the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) which in certain situation will be out of date. The ANS stores memories about strong emotional experiences and later transfers messages and information based on these past events. This then impact on how we feel and respond in the current moment.
