Social Emotional Learning through fun activities for youth
We start from where the youth are and then engage them through gamification to take them on a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) journey to build the new skills and resilience required for engineering, technology and STEM fields - ones which will greatly impact the future of Africa 2030, and beyond.
Gamification fun builds Brain Based Habits to prepare girls and youth for Sustainable Resilience to aligned with the Inner Development Goals required to support the SDG for Africa 2030.Concept Map: Africa leading the Future - 2030

The WomEng project supports ‘#1MillionGirlsinSTEM’ - Change a girl, change the world.
We wish to grow the WomEng’s #1MillionGirlsInSTEM campaign by offering our ‘Wanderer Game’ to WomEng’s open-source toolkit, perhaps including Gears for Girls and Girl Robotics.
Wanderer was created to build Gender equity in STEM fields using Social Emotional Learning (STEM SEL) employing brain based gamification activities to engage youth in their local schools and communities. We require support:
Selecting girls to participate in the games
Hosting a 3 morning holiday workshops in WomEng offices
Ongoing co-creation of STEM open source activities.
Youth volunteered for the HeforShe movement, in partnership with UN Women and with the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
We could align with WeRise community to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment!
‘Wanderer’ could align with the ‘WeRise’ gamification platform and app to build further awareness on gender equality and women’s empowerment in a fun and engaging way.
The platform enables the youth to build knowledge, awareness and language on key gender issues and social norms through experiential learning presented in the form of games, challenges and quizzes.
WeRise employ customizable plug-ins and an interactive interface, play solo challenge with friends mini-games - quiz, word search, or picture puzzle - to progress through the map and beat the leaderboard. Interact with other users on the community page, and share blog posts, videos, comments, forum questions, follow topics and stay informed about future events.
